What this guide covers
Open DOCX, XLSX and PPTX in desktop Office, edit and save. ClippingMini syncs changes to the original file while online, without another upload.
- Check the requirements
- Open Office from the document menu
- Edit and save
Downloading a document, editing a copy and uploading it again makes it easy to lose track of the latest version. ClippingMini lets you open a saved file in Microsoft Office on your PC and save changes back to the original.
Meeting_Notes.docx1. Check the requirements
Requires Microsoft Office installed on your PC. Supports your own DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files. Web preview is available without local Office.
2. Open Office from the document menu
On your PC, open the menu of a file you uploaded to your own ClippingMini document library and choose Edit in Office app. DOCX opens in Word, XLSX in Excel and PPTX in PowerPoint. If the browser asks to launch an external application, allow it to open the installed Office app.
- Choose “Edit in Office app” from the document menu.
- Edit in Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
- Save in the local Office app to automatically sync changes to the original file in ClippingMini while online. No re-upload is needed.
3. Edit and save
Update your meeting notes, spreadsheet values or slides, then save in the Office app. You do not need to download a separate copy and upload it again.
Save in the local Office app to automatically sync changes to the original file in ClippingMini while online. No re-upload is needed.
How is preview different from editing?
Web preview lets you read a document. Editing takes place in the Office app on your PC. Preview is available without Office installed; local editing requires Office.

If Office does not open or changes do not sync
Check your login and internet connection. If the document is already being edited in another Office app, save and close that editing session before trying again. Check that the supported file belongs to your own document library. For a connection error, check the network and retry.
